Tomorrow's Audiences Today
General Information
Through Tomorrow's Audiences Today, it is our desire to expose young people to the exciting transformational experience theater can be. It is our hope that live theater can then be a catalyst for class discussion. And finally, we believe that an exciting night in the theater when an individual is young can make them theatergoers for life.
How many people in the community will be helped by this project? The simple answer is 2000, the number of tickets we hope to distribute per season. It is our belief there are intangible trickle down effects for communities that support the arts.
Thirty tickets will be set aside for each performance on FPT's 2005-2006 Season. These tickets will be offered to Fort Wayne area high schools, colleges, middle schools, and elementary schools. Tickets must be reserved prior to the performance by calling the Managing Artistic Director. Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. In addition, FPT's Artistic Director is available for classroom visits either before or after viewing the plays.
Although not the primary goal of the program, we also make tickets available to other deserving organizations. For instance, Cedar Hope, an organization for abused women, has made use of our program, as have other like organizations.
We are hoping to find seven funding agencies from foundations and corporate sponsors, one for each of our productions. Past sponsors of this program include:
- The Waterfield Foundation
- The Venderly Foundation
- Marsha Heller
- The Chapman Fund
- The FPT Theater Endowment
- FPT's Donor Circle
- 80/20, Inc.
You can see the success of this program through the number of tickets distributed in the past. (statistics here).
Sponsorship
It is our intention to include a description of the TAT program in every program during the 2005-2006 Season. In addition, we will be listing those donors who funded the sponsorship of a production. We are asking $3,000 for a show sponsorship. For this $3,000 FPT provides the following:
- Recognition in printed material (Posters, flyers, mailers and programs) that our production of _______________________ is produced "in association with" the sponsoring entity.
- Recognition in every program of the 2005-2006 season.
- Sponsoring group chooses one of the following options (please circle one);
- 50 complimentary ticket vouchers that may be used for any performance during FPT's 2005-2006 season. ($750 value)
- 200 $5 discount coupons that may be used for any performance during FPT's 2005-2006 season. ($1,000 value)
- For each performance a block of 30 tickets will be set aside to be distributed free of charge to students. ($2700 to $4500 value-depending on the show)
