Hats are everywhere in this gospel musical telling the stories of six southern African-American women and the hats they wear to church. This joyous celebration is seen through the eyes of a young woman sent to her grandmother after her brother is killed in Brooklyn. As the young woman embraces the hat culture, she also gains a greater sense of self.
