New Associate Pastor Called

The congregation voted today (Feb 5) to call Arianne Braithwaite Lehn as an Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church. Upon successful completion of her examination on the floor of the Presbytery of Whitewater Valley, Arianne will be ordained and installed at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 10.

Newly-elected Elders are Michael Eastman, Suzanne Echtenkamp, David McCants, Michael McDuffie, and Marcia Weissner. Sally Swihart was re-elected. Newly-elected to the Board of Deacons are Roger Goodland, Marcia McKibben, Cynthia Scott, Jill Therrien, Stanley Volz, Anita Wolfe, Frank Wright, Jongmin Kim, and Bohyung Kenneth Lee. Re-elected Deacons are Kaye Lobsiger, John Robison, and Sarah Savage. Ordination and installation of officers will take place in May.

Our 2012 Confirmation Class (for interested youth in 8th grade and above) begins meeting on Sunday, February 12, from 12:30-2:00pm in the Session Room. We'll eat lunch together and begin our engaging discussions of the Christian faith. Our plan is meet together for seven consecutive Sundays, from February 12 through March 25, with a special worship service at the end of April to officially confirm our youth as adult members of First Pres. The Committee on Ministry of Whitewater Valley Presbytery January 25 approved the APNC’s choice of Arianne Lehn for the position of Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church. She will deliver her candidating sermon at the 10:00am service Sunday, February 5. A congregational vote will occur in a called meeting immediately following the service.
