Town Hall Meeting

During this time of transition opportunities are being presented for members to exchange ideas. The Town Hall Meetings will be in the form of presentation followed by discussion. The first session is Monday, September 20, 7-8:30pm, on The Church as Family, or "How we are with one another." Subsequent meetings are October 18 on Communication, or "What we say to one another," and November 15 on Presbyterian 101, or "Why we are with one another."

A change in location will delay the previously scheduled start (Sept 28) of this fall's Apostle's Build of a Habitat for Humanity house by volunteers from First Pres and six other congregations. For the fourth time in six years, we will be providing a "hand up, not a hand-out" to another hard-working family in Fort Wayne. This will be the 147th Habitat house built in Allen County since 1986. Watch for details of the new schedule and location of the build and sign up in the church office.

First Presbyterian Church has been selected as one of the featured stops on this year's West Central House and Garden Tour. Visitors will be welcomed Saturday, September 11, 9am-5pm, and Sunday, September 12, 1-5pm. Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts to help direct our guests.

A new member class for those wanting to join or those just curious about First Presbyterian Church will be held September 26, October 3 and 10 at 9:45am. Attendance at all three sessions is expected. New members will be received in worship October 10. RSVP the church office, 426-7421.

Stop by the First Presbyterian cookie booth September 18 and 19 at the popular Johnny Appleseed Festival. Proceeds go to the Day Care program and to scholarships by Presbyterian Women. If you can help bake cookies starting September 16, call Mona Rebman, 637-6071. If you would like to volunteer to sell at the booth, call Amy Szwabowicz at First Pres Day Care, 426-7421.
