The King’s Singers Concert November 1

An overflow crowd of 750 jammed the First Pres sanctuary for the November 1 concert by the acclaimed British ensemble. Their program was drawn from the group's latest CD, High Flight, and a blend of contrasting works from the sixteenth and twentieth centuries.

Approximately 300 young people attended a master class at IPFW the day previous to the concert. The Music Committee wishes to give a huge "Thank You" to all who helped make the King's Singers’ visit in Fort Wayne such a success!
The following is from singer Paul Phoenix’s blog and shows the British group’s delight with Fort Wayne. Their picture was taken at Cindy’s Diner.
“As Tim said in his 'blog yesterday, last night's concert in Fort Wayne was the first performance of our 'High Flight' programme, in the rather lovely 'First Pres.' Church. The concert was really fulfilling to sing, and very well received by the audience, and as I write this on our way to Columbus, Ohio, I'm really looking forward to performing it again tonight.
There is one thing I shall really miss about Fort Wayne however: 'Cindy's Diner', where I have been for breakfast the past three mornings. What a brilliant place: friendly folk, on both sides of the counter - the best 'corned beef hash' and eggs I have ever tasted, fresh coffee and really tasty oatmeal ....... I'm missing it already! By the time we left this morning, most of your KS had been there, as well as several of our friends, and when I arrived today, and the lovely lady who had been serving me these past mornings, asked me if I wanted my 'usual', I felt like I belonged there ...... You know, its the really simple things in life that give me the greatest pleasure - fresh, good food, friendly people and a warm smile ..... This time, let's not leave it eleven years before we go back to Fort Wayne!”
