First Presbyterian Church of Fort Wayne welcomes you to its worship and to its work. Founded in 1831, the oldest continuously worshiping congregation in the city, both our theology and the practice of our faith have always been progressive. Our traditions help us live joyfully in the present and toward the future.
We have been blessed by our forebears with a beautiful building, but we know that it is the spirit of the church family within that building that makes us part of Jesus Christ's Church. We are a family of faith, a community seeking God's will. Our ministry and mission are diverse, providing avenues of service for all kinds of people, regardless of race, sex, age, or worldly condition. The whole city is our parish. Our mission is worldwide.
We invite you to help us be a better church and we would like to be for you a family of faith, a home in Fort Wayne. If you are curious about our ministry and mission, or if you are feeling a nudge by God's Spirit to explore the possibility of finding a home with us, please contact Dr. Park at (260) 426-7421, ext. 13, or via email at jspark@firstpres-fw.org.

The Holiday Season will be upon us before we know it and again this season the First Presbyterian Angel Tree will be sponsoring 165 children, ages newborn through age 12, from the East Wayne Street Center, Wellspring Social Services, and United Hispanic-Americans, Inc.
The decision to limit the age groups and maintain the same number of Angels as last year was based on congregational feedback, and the fact that many of the older children’s angels were not selected in previous years, leaving it to the committee, and whatever monetary contributions were available, to purchase their gifts.
Angels will be available for selection in the Small Dining Room beginning Sunday, November 16. As in previous years, a sign-up board will be available next to the Angel Tree for angel selections during the week.
If you are planning on selecting an angel or family of angels for your place of business, please let us know so that we can coordinate the distribution of multiple gifts.
It is prayerfully hoped that all of our Angels will be selected by the congregation this season. All gifts will need to be returned no later than Sunday, December 7.
The committee can use help with preparing the angels for the tree, tree set up, assisting church members with their selection of the angels, as well as help receiving and delivering the gifts when they are returned. The committee meets in the evenings to allow working members the opportunity to volunteer.
Our first meeting will be Thursday evening, October 30. If you are interested in helping with the 2008 Angel Tree, please contact Janice Roddy at 260-461-1400 (daytime) or 260-493-2511 (evenings), or Beth Marks at 260-434-1227.
